Yet Moldovans proved resilient. Civil society, independent media, and state institutions worked hand in hand to expose the schemes and defend the integrity of the vote. This election will be remembered not just for the result, but for the way Moldova stood up against hybrid warfare—and won.
Congratulations from Europe
The message was heard loud and clear in European capitals. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen congratulated Moldovans for their “courage and clarity in choosing the European future.” European Council President Charles Michel wrote that Moldova’s democratic choice is “a victory for Europe itself.” Leaders from Paris, Berlin, Warsaw, and Bucharest hailed the outcome as proof that despite pressure, Moldova remains a steadfast partner, committed to peace and stability in the region.
